THE EMIS METHOD

An integrated approach to material handling

ENGINEERED. BUILT. VERIFIED.

Engineering, manufacturing, documentation, inspection and testing are developed as coordinated parts of the same supply.

Very different applications can share one common feature: the need to develop a specific solution rather than adapt a standard machine. Our method starts with an analysis of the handling task and follows the project through every phase of engineering, manufacturing, inspection, documentation and commissioning.

Every project starts from precise technical requirements and is developed through a structured process that integrates engineering, manufacturing, inspection and validation. We define the system based on the operating conditions, the required performance, the safety criteria and the applicable documentation requirements. We follow every phase of the supply, from engineering development to manufacturing, through to inspections, testing and commissioning, ensuring consistency between what was designed, what was built and the actual behavior of the machine.

For us, quality is not defined by rated performance alone. It is the result of consistency between design, manufacturing, inspections, documentation and the verified performance of the system.

ENGINEERED MOTION – INTEGRATED SAFETY. YOUR LOAD. OUR ENGINEERING.

ANALYSIS

We study the load, the process, the operating environment and the requirements that apply to the machine. We analyze performance, operating conditions, plant interfaces, safety requirements and acceptance criteria, defining from the earliest stages the elements that will guide the development of the project.

ENGINEERING

We develop the structural, mechanical and electrical design, the automation systems and the control and safety architectures. The design takes into account not only how the machine works, but also its manufacturing, transport, installation, maintenance, testing and management throughout its entire life cycle.

TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

Every machine comes with technical documentation developed in parallel with the project. Depending on the contractual requirements and the application, we prepare detail and assembly drawings, calculation reports, wiring diagrams, fabrication and assembly procedures, inspection plans, welding documentation, test procedures, operation and maintenance manuals and final technical files. Documentation is managed through revisions, approvals and change traceability, maintaining consistency between what was designed, built, verified and delivered.

MANUFACTURING AND QUALITY CONTROL

We oversee the manufacturing and assembly of the equipment through inspections planned according to the characteristics of the machine and the project requirements. Activities may include material inspections, dimensional checks, weld inspections, non-destructive testing, machining checks, surface treatment inspections and assembly checks. Inspection plans and procedures define the stages to be verified, the acceptance criteria and the related recording documentation.

TESTING & VALIDATION

Before commissioning, we verify the behavior, functionality and performance of the machine through tests and inspections defined according to the application. Tests may include functional checks, safety system tests, automation logic checks, no-load tests, load tests, static and dynamic tests and verification of the performance specified in the project. When required, we develop specific FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) procedures to verify the main mechanical, electrical and control systems in the workshop before shipment.

INSTALLATION, SAT AND COMMISSIONING

We oversee the assembly and installation of the machine at the client’s site through to commissioning. Final checks can be carried out through SAT (Site Acceptance Test) procedures aimed at verifying that the machine operates correctly in its actual installed configuration and conditions. During this phase, functional checks, adjustments, safety device tests and, where required, load tests are completed.

FINAL DOCUMENTATION

Once the work is complete, we gather the documentation produced during design, manufacturing, inspection and testing into the machine’s final dossier. Updated drawings, material and component certificates, inspection reports, welding documentation, test reports, manuals and certifications are an integral part of the supply. The client therefore receives not just a completed and tested machine, but a technically documented, verified and traceable system.

SERVICE AND REVAMPING

We support the equipment throughout its life cycle with maintenance, spare parts, modifications, upgrades and revamping. In these activities, too, we keep the same approach: technical analysis, documentation updates, verification of modifications and final inspection of the work.
